The Willowbrook community extends well beyond Willowbrook: to Leimert Park, where the Ancestors Parade is held; to Crenshaw, where the Pan African Film Festival holds its events; to Skid Row, where members of the community garden uphold a tradition of serving breakfast at the Midnight Mission; to Watts, where the Towers built by Sabato Rodia stand tall; to the South of France, where Rose Pinkney, the director of the Willowbrook Community Garden, would visit her granddaughter when she was doing her year-abroad. Rose now wants to plant a vineyard to Grenache grapes like those she saw when she was in Provence.
